"What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it."  -J.D. Salinger

reaching for sun
by Tracie Vaughn Zimmer will be coming out from Bloomsbury in March 2007.

This novel written in sparse verse hooks you with the first poem as it dives right into the life of 13 year old Josie Wyatt.  We see her loneliness and feel the anguish of being different.  We tread in her shoes via snippets of the year where she gains a friend, defies her mother, and almost loses someone close to her.  Josie is so real, we’re left wanting to hear more from her.
